CD Release: The Passion of Yeshua
The world premiere recording of Richard Danielpour’s newest oratorio, The Passion of Yeshua, is one of Naxos's highlights this month. Presented by the GRAMMY Award-winning forces of the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra and Chorus and music director JoAnn Falletta, this release also features a superb group of soloists led by baritone Kenneth Overton (Yeshua) and soprano Hila Plitmann (Miryam Magdala), with the UCLA Chamber Singers. Previous recordings of Danielpour’s works on Naxos have consistently received critical acclaim, including his earlier oratorio Toward a Season of Peace which was described as ‘an excellent musical work’ by Pizzicato.
