Interview: Saratoga 150 and Richard Danielpour’s “Serenade”
Summer 2013 brought the 150th anniversary of The Saratoga Race Course (Saratoga, NY). To celebrate, the Saratoga Performing Arts Center commissioned Richard Danielpour to write a new concert-opener. SERENADE premiered on August 8 performed by The Philadelphia Orchestra, led by Keith Lockhart.Danielpour’s long-time association with Saratoga’s Yaddo artist community made him a perfect choice for the commission.
